1. Who we are and what this policy covers

SmartSim Technology Limited operates the SmartSimPro website at smartsimpro.com and is responsible for the customer information we handle in operating this website, processing website orders and providing related support. In this policy, “SmartSimPro”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to SmartSim Technology Limited.

Company address: Rm 5, 10/F, CARNIVAL COML BLDG, 18 JAVA RD, North Point, Hong Kong.

Privacy contact: Privacy Enquiries, SmartSim Technology Limited, service@smartsimpro.com. You may also write to the company address above.

This policy covers this website, its customer accounts, purchases, enquiries, newsletter subscriptions and related customer support. It does not serve as the privacy policy for a separate mobile application. Separate applications and services may have their own notices explaining their specific data practices.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we collect the following categories of information:

  • Contact and customer account information: information you provide, such as your name, email address, telephone number, billing or delivery address and customer account details.
  • Order and transaction information: products or plans ordered, order identifiers, purchase history, delivery details, payment status, refunds and transaction references. Payment providers handle the payment information required by the payment method you choose; the information available to us depends on that method and provider.
  • Support information: messages, attachments and information you choose to provide when asking for help. This may include your device model, country of use, relevant error messages and, where necessary for a particular support request, the SIM or order identifier you provide.
  • Website and device information: technical information associated with visits to the website, such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referral information, approximate location derived from IP address, timestamps and interactions with the site.
  • Preferences and marketing information: subscription choices, cookie preferences, advertising interactions and records of consent or opt-out requests.

We receive information directly from you, automatically through the website and its tracking technologies, and from providers that help us operate the store, process payments, fulfil orders or measure marketing activity.

Fields needed to complete an order or fulfil a specific request are identified in the relevant process. If you choose not to provide required information, we may be unable to process that order or request. Newsletter subscriptions and consent to non-essential tracking are separate choices; they are not a condition of making an ordinary purchase.

3. How we use information

We use information for the following purposes:

  • operating the website and customer accounts;
  • processing payments, orders, fulfilment, returns and refunds;
  • providing order updates and responding to product, activation and support enquiries;
  • protecting the website and customers against fraud, misuse and security incidents;
  • understanding website performance and improving content and services;
  • administering referrals and measuring marketing effectiveness;
  • sending marketing communications and providing or measuring relevant advertising, subject to the choices and consent requirements that apply to you; and
  • keeping necessary business records, meeting applicable legal obligations and handling disputes.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, these activities rely, as appropriate, on fulfilling a contract or your request, complying with legal obligations, our legitimate interests subject to your rights, or your consent. You may withdraw consent for future processing where consent is the applicable basis.

4. Cookies, advertising pixels and remarketing

We use cookies and similar technologies, including advertising pixels and remarketing tools. These technologies can recognise a browser or device, remember preferences, measure visits or purchases and help deliver or measure advertising.

Essential technologies support functions such as the shopping cart, checkout, authentication and security. Other technologies support analytics, preferences, advertising and measurement. Non-essential technologies are subject to applicable consent requirements and the choices available through our cookie controls.

You can use the website's cookie consent and preference controls to manage available choices, including withdrawing consent to non-essential categories. Your browser may also provide controls for cookies. Blocking essential cookies can affect checkout or other website functions. Your choices may need to be set again if you clear cookies or use a different browser or device.

Advertising providers may receive online identifiers and information about website interactions for advertising and measurement purposes. Depending on applicable law and the way a tool operates, this activity may constitute “sharing”, “sale” or processing for targeted advertising, even without an exchange of money for the data. You can use the available privacy controls and contact service@smartsimpro.com to exercise relevant opt-out rights.

5. Who receives information

We disclose information relevant to the purpose concerned to the following categories of recipients:

  • Commerce and hosting providers, including Shopify: to host the storefront, maintain customer and order records, support checkout and operate store features.
  • Payment providers and financial institutions: to process payments, refunds, fraud checks and payment disputes.
  • Fulfilment, delivery and connectivity providers: to deliver ordered products, supply a purchased service or investigate a relevant activation or service issue.
  • Customer support, communications and technical providers: to handle enquiries, send service messages, maintain systems and support website operation.
  • Analytics, advertising and referral partners: to measure performance, administer referrals and support advertising, subject to applicable privacy choices.
  • Professional advisers and authorities: where reasonably necessary for legal advice, compliance, protection of rights or a valid legal request.
  • Parties to a business transaction: where a proposed or completed restructuring, sale or similar transaction requires disclosure, subject to applicable protections and notice requirements.

Some providers act on our behalf. Others, including certain payment, advertising and platform providers, may also process information for their own purposes under their own privacy notices. Please review the notice provided by the relevant service for information about those activities and your choices.

6. Shopify and other external services

Our store uses Shopify. Shopify processes information to provide the commerce platform and, depending on the features enabled, may also process information about interactions with this store, other stores and Shopify to provide additional services. Where Shopify acts independently, its own privacy terms explain that processing.

For more information and relevant privacy choices, see Shopify's Consumer Privacy Policy and Shopify's Privacy Portal.

Links to payment services, referral programmes, top-up services and other external pages may take you to services with their own privacy notices. Please review the notice relevant to the service you use.

7. International processing

Information may be accessed, stored or processed outside your country, including in Hong Kong and other places where our staff and service providers operate. Different jurisdictions have different data protection rules. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, the transfer must use the safeguards or other lawful mechanism required by that law.

8. Retention and deletion

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Relevant considerations include the duration of the customer relationship, fulfilment and after-sales needs, accounting and legal requirements, security and fraud prevention, and unresolved complaints or disputes.

Retention periods can differ by type of information. We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed, subject to applicable obligations and necessary backup or recovery processes.

You can ask us to delete your website customer account or associated information by emailing service@smartsimpro.com with the subject Website Account Deletion. Please contact us from the email address associated with the account where possible. We may need proportionate information to verify the request. Deleting an account does not automatically cancel an existing order or a separately purchased service; please identify any cancellation request in your message.

We may retain information required for legal, accounting, security or dispute-resolution purposes. Where we cannot fully fulfil a deletion request, we will explain the applicable reason. Retained information remains subject to appropriate protection and limited use.

9. Your choices and rights

You may request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to request deletion or a copy of information, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, or opt out of certain advertising-related uses and disclosures.

To make a request, contact our Privacy Enquiries team at service@smartsimpro.com or write to our company address. We may verify identity or authority before acting on a request and will respond within the period required by applicable law. Where a request is refused or limited, we will explain the reason and any available review route.

To stop promotional emails, use the unsubscribe facility in the message or email us. This does not stop necessary transactional messages about an order, account, security issue or an ongoing request. Cookie and advertising choices are described in section 4.

If you are concerned about our handling of information, please contact us. You may also complain to the privacy regulator responsible for your jurisdiction, including the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong, where applicable.

10. Security

We use reasonable measures appropriate to the information and risks involved to protect customer information. No website, transmission method or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please keep your account access details private and avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information in support messages.

11. Children

The website's purchasing and account services are intended for adults able to enter into the relevant transaction. If you believe a child has provided information without appropriate authority or consent, contact us so we can assess the situation and take appropriate action.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the website, our practices or applicable requirements change. Material changes will be communicated where required by applicable law. Questions about this policy can be sent to service@smartsimpro.com.
